I received two recommendations to go to
Ha-Lu, a new Japanese restaurant in Perth, so it's my 1st choice for my belated birthday dinner with M. We selected dishes that was out of ordinary (meaning, our usual tempura or terriyaki or katsu). And I was glad that we tried new tastes, because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I prefer sake cold sake. M likes it warm.

Pork belly in sweet soy broth.

Duck and aubergines with Madeira Tamari sauce. This was my favourite for tonight!

Greens and handmade tofu with sesame dressing.

Wagyu (or Kobe) beef tataki. This is my first time to try both the much-coveted beef and to eat beef raw.

A selection of delicious sashimi.

Cold fried fish fillets in Namban sauce.
